To reduce crime and stamp out anti-social behaviour through community safety and crime prevention initiatives, local communities across NSW can now apply for up to $250,000 in funding.
The Community Safety Fund is available for individual grants for non-government or not-for-profit organizations, community groups, chambers of commerce and businesses for projects including upgrades of public spaces and community facilities or treatment programs for people at risk of offending.
Minister for Justice and Police Troy Grant said the $10 million funding will help reduce reported violent crime rates and make NSW a safer place to live.
“The NSW Government is proud to support local organisations to develop new and targeted projects to help people feel safe and proud of their community. Together we can make a difference to reduce crime and fear of crime,” said Mr Grant.
The Community Safety Fund supports projects that address local crime hot spots and anti-social behavior in communities, and promote safe and inclusive use of public spaces and collaborative approaches to community safety and crime reduction, prevention and detection initiatives.

Dear Reader,The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
