Massive rainforests, natural beaches, the dirt of the outback, Queensland has enough and more to make for an epic road trip

Queensland, the second-largest and third-most-populous state in Australia, has more 1.7 million square kilometres to uncover, so whatever the route you take, you’re heading in one direction—awesomeness.

Journey as far north as Cape York in Tropical North Queensland or trek alongside the New South Wales border via the Adventure Way, Queensland is best enjoyed at your own pace.

Here’s a quick purview of four road trips you can choose from

  • Pacific Coast Way: Reef-rimmed beaches, fertile farmlands and a plethora of laid-back towns on this route from the Gold Coast to Cairns.
  • Great Beach Drive: This trip connects the Sunshine Coast with the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.
  • Great Tropical Drive: The Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics rainforest are the major pit-stops for those who choose this path.
  • Savannah Way: If you love the outbacks, this is the road to travel with its rugged landscapes, gorges and waterfalls, historic towns and cattle stations.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
