Cricket clash in Darwin: Pakistan and Bangladesh take on BBL Giants

Northern Territory Cricket has announced an expanded fixture for the 2024 Top End T20 Series, featuring teams from Pakistan and Bangladesh. The series is scheduled to take place from August 9 to 18 in Darwin, with nine teams competing, including local favourites and Big Bash League teams like the Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Tasmania, Adelaide Strikers, and ACT Comets.

NT Cricket CEO Gavin Dovey expressed his excitement about the expansion, highlighting the inclusion of two cricketing powerhouses as a testament to the growing potential of winter cricket in the Northern Territory. Usman Wahla, PCB Director International Cricket, and Naimur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s High Performance Unit, also shared their gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity to participate.

The series will feature 30 T20 matches over 10 days, culminating in a Finals Day on August 18. Teams will compete in a round-robin format, each playing six fixtures. The event promises to deliver thrilling cricketing action for fans, with broadcast details and team line-ups to be announced soon.
