The annual Children’s Week Picnic, a much-anticipated family favourite, is set to bring joy to the west again next month. On Sunday, 27 October, Werribee Park will transform into a bustling playground for children and parents from 10am to 4pm, offering free entertainment, activities, and opportunities to learn new skills.
Wyndham City’s popular event promises a packed day of fun, with this year’s line-up featuring performances that are bound to keep the energy high. From the crowd-pleasing antics of Jugg Life to TikTok star Lenny Pearce’s performance, there’s something for all ages to enjoy. Melbourne’s Puppet Kerfuffle and the world premiere of Snow Globe, a captivating musical adventure, add a touch of whimsy to the occasion.
The Active Kids Zone returns with a full slate of sports activities, while arts and crafts in the See Make Play marquee are sure to unleash creative talent. For the younger ones, a Little Bubs zone has been specially curated with soft and messy play areas, ensuring even the tiniest attendees are part of the excitement.
Aside from the entertainment, this year’s event also offers families the chance to connect with key council services. Highlights include the mini Traffic School, a perfect stop for the little ones eager to test their road skills, and the Youth Services Street Surfer Bus for older kids.
Of course, no picnic would be complete without delicious food. Families can bring along their favourite snacks or grab lunch from the assortment of food trucks on-site. The relaxed atmosphere of Werribee Park’s green lawns is ideal for families to kick back, enjoy a meal, and soak in the day’s activities.
While entry is free, tickets must be booked in advance, with registrations opening at 9am on Monday, 7 October. With spots likely to fill up quickly, it’s a good idea for families to get in early and secure their place for this unforgettable day of fun. If plans change, attendees are kindly asked to cancel their tickets to allow others the chance to attend.
Wyndham City’s Children’s Week Picnic is a day for creating memories, exploring new activities, and enjoying the outdoors with the community.
