Pat Cummins, Australia’s cricketing ace and world-renowned bowler, has added a new title to his name—brand ambassador for Prime Video. The celebrated captain, known for steering Australia’s cricket team across all formats, will now champion Prime Video’s entertainment and sports content, cementing his role as an ambassador until 2027.

Unveiled at the immersive Primeville experience at SXSW Sydney, Cummins joined a roster of both local and international stars from hit Prime Video shows. Alongside him were fellow ambassador and former Australian Women’s Cricket Captain Meg Lanning, cast members of The Office Australia, and stars from productions like The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart and Last King of the Cross. Together, they showcased the platform’s impressive line-up, which goes beyond sport to include a broad range of entertainment.

Cummins shared his excitement about the role, saying, “It’s incredibly exciting to be able to extend the relationship with Prime Video beyond cricket and The Test documentary series. Diving into a new show or movie—whether it be binging Clarkson’s Farm or the All or Nothing sport series, or watching live sport—is one of my favourite ways to unwind away from the cricket pitch. I am looking forward to working with the Prime Video team as an official brand ambassador.”

Prime Video’s head of Australia and New Zealand, Hwei Loke, was equally thrilled, describing Cummins as a “shining light of cricket in Australia” and an ideal fit for the brand. “As a lover of live sport and entertainment, his role as ambassador aligns perfectly as we expand our offerings across both.”

This announcement comes as Prime Video strengthens its hold on live sports, including exclusive Australian broadcast rights for all ICC cricket events over the next four years. Cricket fans can access every tournament—whether it’s the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup streaming now or future events—at no extra cost to a Prime membership. The platform is also the go-to for NBA, WNBA, and NFL fans, with exclusive global coverage of 66 regular-season NBA games, 30 WNBA games, and NFL Game Pass available as an add-on in Australia.

Since 2019, Prime Video has commissioned a growing list of 30 original productions in Australia, ranging from The Test series to LOL: Last One Laughing Australia with Rebel Wilson, and the lifestyle special Hugh van Cuylenburg: G.E.M. The line-up includes comedies, documentaries, and dramas like The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Neighbours, and The Moth Effect. Cummins’ involvement is expected to further spotlight this content, as he takes on a key role promoting both the platform’s sports and entertainment offerings.

For Prime members in Australia, it means easy access to all these matches and shows, on the go, whether on smart TVs, mobile devices, or streaming devices like Fire TV. Plus, offline viewing comes at no extra cost, so cricket fans can catch up on matches anytime, anywhere.

With Cummins on board, Prime Video’s already expansive sports portfolio looks set to engage even more Aussie fans, from cricket lovers to movie buffs alike.
