Nick Attam, The Indian Sun Queensland’s very own NickMoBro, is growing his moustache this Movember with a purpose well beyond style. While the classic Movember moustache may be a bit of a ‘vibe,’ Nick’s aim is to tackle an issue that’s far too real: men’s mental health. Every minute, the world loses a man to suicide. That’s a father, a brother, a mate—someone’s son. This grim reality propels Nick to take a stand, challenging the silence around mental health struggles.

In Australia, millions are dealing with mental health concerns yet remain silent, often not reaching out for the help they need. This is where Movember’s impact steps in. Through donations, Movember has bolstered essential services like Beyond Blue’s NewAccess—a mental health coaching initiative that has already supported over 25,000 Australians since 2013. With a 70% recovery rate, NewAccess has transformed thousands of lives, giving people the tools they need to navigate life’s hurdles.

But the demand is immense, and mental health services are stretched thin. Programs like NewAccess are essential, but to keep them going, Movember relies on the support of people like Nick—and people like you. With a simple donation or by sharing Nick’s story, every action counts towards saving lives.

Nick is rallying members of the Indian community to join him in embracing Movember, urging them to take part in raising awareness for men’s mental health. With a call to action that goes beyond a moustache, Nick hopes to unite the community around this crucial cause, encouraging everyone to start conversations, support mental health services, and show solidarity with those struggling. By coming together, he believes that the Indian community can make a real impact, helping to ensure that men everywhere get the support they need—one Mo at a time.

This Movember, join Nick in the mission to stop men from dying too young. Whether it’s checking in on a mate, donating to the cause, or growing a mo’ yourself, every effort makes a difference. It’s time to turn moustaches into a movement and fight for men’s health.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
