Australia’s summer of cricket is set to begin with a bang as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy lands on home soil on Friday, 22 November. Broadcasting live and free on Seven and, for the first time, streaming on 7plus Sport, the series promises to deliver top-tier cricket action, with some of the biggest names in the game lined up to lead the commentary.
Sunil Gavaskar, a giant of Indian cricket and the series’ namesake, returns to Seven’s commentary team for all five Tests, bringing fans his deep knowledge and unique insight. He’ll be joined by Australian icons like Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, and Matthew Hayden, who are all set to give viewers a front-row seat to every twist and turn of the matches. Aaron Finch, former ODI and T20I captain, adds to the powerhouse line-up, kicking off his commentary stint for the Border-Gavaskar series in Perth and continuing throughout the BBL season.
This summer, viewers can also expect a fresh perspective from Mitchell Starc, who’ll be on deck for the Women’s Ashes white-ball matches. Former England cricketer Alexandra Hartley brings a new voice for the Women’s Ashes series, while Rachel Khawaja provides an intimate connection to the players through their families during the Australia-India Test Series.
Seven’s expert roster is further bolstered by veteran voices, with sports presenters James Brayshaw, Mel McLaughlin, and boundary hosts Erin Holland and Emma Freedman anchoring the coverage. Viewers will see regular appearances from Greg Blewett, Lisa Sthalekar, Trent Copeland, and a host of cricket greats.
With such a dynamic commentary team, Seven’s Summer of Cricket aims to capture every thrilling moment live and free, setting up a cricket season not to be missed.
