On 1st February, Usha launches her new podcast, Just Landed with Usha. The show serves as a platform for migrants to share their journeys, struggles, and triumphs as they navigate the challenges of building a life in a new land

Fifteen years ago, Usha packed her bags, left India, and made Australia her new home. What followed was a journey marked by resilience, adaptation, and a deep commitment to building connections in her adopted country. Now, as a seasoned Talent Specialist and podcast host, Usha is bringing the untold stories of Australia’s migrant community to life.

On 1 February, Usha launches her new podcast, Just Landed with Usha. The show serves as a platform for migrants to share their journeys, struggles, and triumphs as they navigate the challenges of building a life in a new land. Usha sees it as more than a passion project—it’s a mission. “Everyone’s story deserves to be heard,” she says, “and through those stories, we can find common ground and build stronger communities.”

Having lived the migrant experience herself, Usha understands the complexities of starting over in an unfamiliar place. She knows the weight of decisions, the hurdles of finding belonging, and the immense value of having someone who simply listens. It’s this understanding that fuels her work, both professionally and through her podcast.

With over 15 years of expertise in talent acquisition and people experience, Usha has always championed diversity in the workplace. She believes that a more inclusive Australia starts with recognising the value of different perspectives. For her, the podcast is an extension of these values—a way to amplify voices that often go unheard and celebrate the rich tapestry of migrant experiences.

Whether it’s stories of navigating new cultures, building careers from scratch, or balancing heritage with assimilation, Just Landed with Usha captures the essence of what it means to start afresh. Usha’s efforts shine a light on the importance of community, empathy, and the power of storytelling in bridging divides.

Through her work, Usha hopes to inspire others to embrace diversity and celebrate the unique strengths each individual brings. “Our differences make us stronger,” she says. “By understanding each other’s stories, we can build a more connected and inclusive future.”

Just Landed with Usha will be available on YouTube from 1 February.

Dear Reader,

The Indian Sun is an independent organisation committed to community journalism. We have, through the years, been able to reach a wide audience especially with the growth of social media, where we also have a strong presence. With platforms such as YouTube videos, we have been able to engage in different forms of storytelling. However, the past few years, like many media organisations around the world, it has not been an easy path. We have a greater challenge. We believe community journalism is very important for a multicultural country like Australia. We’re not able to do everything, but we aim for some of the most interesting stories and journalism of quality. We call upon readers like you to support us and make any contribution. Do make a DONATION NOW so we can continue with the volume and quality journalism that we are able to practice.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Team The Indian Sun
